It stinks and it feels icky!!! I don't like it!
We gave Kahmiya over today to another Foster family. Denny dropped her off and said that it was very hard and very sad. When she walked into the DHS building, she tensed up and wouldn't walk. Denny carried her in. They sat on a bench and played for about 5 minutes and then she went with the socail worker, away in her car to her new family for now. I'm glad I wasn't there. Denny said it took everything in him to not turn away and put her back in the car. It's already been better for Keeley, but it sucks for Kahmiya. Now she is with no family. We are considering being a respite family which would involve taking her one weekend a month, so we can stay in contact and let her know that we're not bailing on her. I'm mixed because I want to see her and see that she is okay and tell her that I love her, but will that confuse her even more?
Please, please, please pray for Kahmiya. Please pray for God's protection over her, that God will have her in the most perfect family for her, and that she will know that she is very special and that God loves her soooooooooooo much and HE will never bail on her, even when everyone else does.
I hate this so much,
Angie:)

A hard call

It's been just over 2 months that we've had Kahmiya in our home. She is very joyful and bright. She is a good little girl who aims to please and loves to laugh and play. We went into this situation with the disclaimer that Keeley was the most important variable in keeping Kahmiya. It has been an adjustment for all of us involved. Good and bad. This past weekend, we all took a break from each other and had one on one time with Keeley. It was an amazing weekend! Since Kahmiya came, Keeley has stopped trying to walk and she has stopped trying to talk. In this small weekend she made more progress walking and talking then she has in two months. It confirmed in my heart that as hard as it is, Kahmiya needs to go to another home. I've been praying and praying for peace over this situation. The longer it drags on and the more Kahmiya's mother tries to work the system, the more anger and bitterness grows in my heart. We want the very best for Kahmiya and that is why we have continued to walk this road. It finally occurred to me this morning that the best for Kahmiya is that she not be with her blood relatives. It's too confusing for her to have family members in and out of her life. It's hard enough for her to have weekly visits with her mom, let alone all of us.
Many positives have come out of this experience. We have introduced structure and consistency into Kahmiya's life. She has thrived because of it. We've discovered that she is a little OCD. She cannot have doors open. She has to close any open door she sees, before she can continue any other task. It's actually very cute and somewhat comical. Keeley and Kahmiya have both been learning how to share, something that they will be learning all their life. We have had the chance to share the love of God to a precious little girl. I pray that no matter what life brings her, she remembers that Jesus loves her.
Please keep this whole messy situation in your prayers. We love you all.
