Upstairs Walls

The entire Deck is finished early Monday morning.

Some suggested it would make a great skating rink but we decided to stick with the original plan.

McKenzie gave his entire week after his real job to help with the walls. Thanks Mac!!!

The guys build the walls, then Denny comes in and jacks them up. He has a pretty good thing going!

Hopefully this is the last of water the inside of this house will ever see. We have been very blessed so far with great weather during the course of this project.

Starting to look like a house from the street, is that a tractor in your front yard?

Half of the inside walls up.

Karrissa sent some apples for Matt and Denny. Thankfully Matt took a bite out of his first. Denny then cut his open not to make the same tragic mistake.

Matt then tried to get that taste out his mouth by working on the front of the house.

Matt and Joel pose for a picture to show off all their hard work finishing the front of the house.

Nice gun!!!

The front is almost complete, look at those huge windows.

Denny starts to tackle the stairs on Saturday, but before the stairs always come the landing.

Larry asks Denny "are you sure you want to do it like that?"

His dad then says, "I knew you could do it!"

The stairs are up!

Looking down at the entry from the top of the stairs.

More pictures of the stairs, Denny is pretty proud of them.

The walls are all up by Saturday night.

The roof trusses are coming on Tuesday so there is little rest for the daddy to be. Stay tuned next week should be another big one!

The Second Floor!

These are the footings at the back porch. They will support the backside of the second floor.

Larger picture of the huge footings!

The back patio will curve to contour the back yard.

Dad checking out the back patio forms.

Now the side our house is level at five feet out.

Dad's crew has to approve our work.

The second story beams to cover the back porch.

Huge thanks to Don for his machine, without it Denny would have to lift this glu-lam by himself.

Denny standing 12 feet above the ground on the glu-lam laying out for the floor joists.

Please don't fall, the house isn't finished yet!

Dash watering the wild landscape!

Andrew trying to look busy for a picture.

Andrew trying to convince Denny that he will catch him, just jump.

Look at the shelves Angie and Karen built, now there is now excuse for an unorganized storage container!

Denny brings the last piece of the floor joist system, while Don, Andrew, and Russell start sheeting the floor.

1/3 of the sheeting is done by Saturday night.

Please hurry fellas, the baby isn't going to wait very long.

First floor!

This is the view from the street with the windows and doors cut out. The far right window is my workout room. The left window is our living room. The garage still needs to be framed.

This is the powder room behind the garage with a pocket door.

From left to right these doors are entrances for the pantry, the workout room and the closet beneath the stairs.
This is the entry to the pantry from the kitchen.
This week is a short one due to a wedding in California. We have some pad inspections to pass so we can pour our patio in the back to support the posts that will hold our second floor. This house was engineered to keep the majority of the second floor weight on these pads, due to the age of the old foundation.
On another note, our upstairs office just became a nursery. I have an appt. Wed. to find out how far along I am.
Thanks for watching!!!!!
Love,
Denny and Angie:)
